Well let's find out. On a 1-10 scale with 10 being the highest, how badly do you want to have a good or great marriage with your spouse? If you said like "3" then that's not very good is it?
I just said that marriages can change for the better VERY FAST... but that happens only if you are interested. If you are just wishy washy or even repulsed by your mate all bets are off.
I've seen it happen with couples in my practice a thousand times over the last 27 years, quick but solid and practical change. It's not magic but it can feel like magic. Do some fail? Sure. A whole bunch of people fail at it because they never intended to do anything in the first place to save their marriage. They were just playing a game and not serious about it. A lot of times it's because the therapist is too timid and doesn't want to interfere too much or tell people what to do. That has always seemed kookoo to me because what are you paying the therapist for if not to tell you what to do? I'll tell you exactly what to do. Why mess around?

I know there are other choices on the internet. High paid advertising writers have made products which are quite crappy sound like sliced peaches, like all you have to do is download their ebook and everything in life gets sweeter and sweeter. That's kinda looney if you ask me.

Some people are even promoting the ridiculous idea that you can save your marriage even if you are the only one who wants to. Now that just plain isn't common sense. You might want to believe that but it's wrong.
Apparently I'm not supposed to say that since about 99 out of 100 sites on the internet tell you that you can save your marriage all by yourself. That's goofy and it is an out and out lie.
Either they are trying to trick you into thinking you are going to defy all the laws of relationships (just to sell you their ebooks) or they really do not understand a thing about what relationships are really about.
Or they have been working with individuals behind closed doors in their little ivory towers too much to understand what couples work is all about. Or they are smoking something.
Or they want to keep you in some kind of trance believing the impossible can happen if you just cross your fingers a certain way and say certain things and act a certain way or use some kind of "mental approach" or some other mumbo jumbo. If you are looking for "The Secret" I think it's still available on Amazon; here on planet earth things work differently.

In my experienced judgment I see these hucksters trying to just trying to convince you that you can manipulate your way out of the bad behavior you did before - or manipulate your partner into loving you by some kind of clever techniques.
Manipulating people ("make him love you" "make your ex want you back" "turn-ons that will have her begging for more", etc etc) never really works for a long term relationship.
Hey if you are just a "player" or "hustler" good luck. But if you are a serious person in a marriage...
You know better. And you REALLY know better if you have bought one of those products.
You gotta work together to save your marriage. I don't think that's too hard to grasp. It doesn't have to be too hard or too demanding, but you do have to make an effort.
